Canuck Version 1.1.1

This is a major update for the Canuck Theme.

  • The focus of the update was on improving performance.
  • All scripts have been minimized, and reduced where possible
  • IMPORTANT – Delete your cache after updating.
  • Lazy load features have been added.
  • Enable this page loading improvement in Appearance->Customize->Canuck General->jQuery Options
  • Footer color control has been added, allowing you to change footer background colors and text colors.
  • The Static Home Page and Blog sliders now have a full size slider option.
  • This gives you full custom control on the size and quality of the images you want to use.
  • Just remember to keep all images EXACTLY the same size.
  • Also remember to optimize the images to keep file sizes and page load speeds reasonable.

Hi Kevin,

again thank you very much for the theme. But after updating to version 1.1.1 I’ve got problems with the sidebar on mobile devices. It remains a wide margin. Further opening of the sidebar is strange. Try out on my website.
Thank you very much.

Best from Germany,

I’ve just checked my demo site and everything looks fine.

If you have a cache program you need to delete it from there and also load the page with Ctrl F5 a few times.

Hi Kevin
This didn’t work on Safari browser so using Chrome.
Q. I am using a3 Lazy load plugin. I tried using your lazyload js plugin and it didn’t appear to work.
Also Donate page doesn’t work.

Fixed the donate link….thanks 😊

Check that the lazy load option is turned on in Customize=>Canuck General=>jQuery Options

When developing lazy load for Canuck, I only used it for certain things, as I found in affected some sliders. So it is applied everywhere it is safe to do so.

If A3 works for you then continue to use it but ensure the one I use is turned off.

Hi Kevin
I cannot override Font for Page Titles

I have used ‘Insert Headers and Footers’ plugin and in the header added

/*Change Font*/

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {font-family: ‘Denk One’, sans-serif;} This worked but not for Font for Page Titles

#page-title-wide .page-title-wrap h1 {
font-family: ‘Denk One’, sans-serif;
} Doesn’t work

Any ideas how I can override Font for Page Titles

Using a plugin for that sort of thing may not work.

#page-title-wide .page-title-wrap h1 {
font-family: ‘Denk One’, sans-serif;!important

I tried it. Same issue.

The header/footer plugin works. Allows you to insert Googleapi Font.

It worked on Canuck Style – Font for Headers when creating rule in Additional CSS
but not for – Font for Page Titles.

It is like the css for Font for Page Titles is overriding anything written in Additional CSS. Inheritance override.

Sorry Kevin

Ignore last post. Finger trouble on my side. !important at the end of the css was the key for it to work.

PS I love your tutorials. Very useful and informative.

Could this theme be used with an online shop/store with WooCommerce or something similar? Like if I want to have a regular homepage, blog page, but also a Shop?
